The Road to the Beaches has been a summer destination of Newfoundlanders for decades and is home to Newfoundlands best beaches including Eastport Beach, Northside Beach and Sandy Cove Beach to name the sandy ones.  Little Sandy Cove and Wild Cove are a couple amazing rocky ones.

The Road to the Beaches area is a hiker's paradise with over 90kms of diverse hiking trails including The Damnable Trail network, the Ken Diamond Park in Glovertown, and Terra Nova National Park. Hansford Hiking Adventures can tailor a guided, storytelling hiking experience.

The Road to the Beaches has a vibrant arts community that is showcased at the Beaches Art and Heritage Centre in Eastport. Pinsent Art Studio and Brenda's Art Gallery are prime examples of the wonderful talent on display throughout the Road to the Beaches.

Bonavista Bay was once home to numerous populated islands that gave early Newfoundlanders easy access to the fishery. With the improvement of technology and the encouragement of the provincial  government, all of these once settled islands is now uninhabited with the exception of St. Brendan's island.
